Just as the Lunar New Year celebration is ending, the Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day Celebration is beginning. The week-long event will feature increased pink Pokemon spawns and other bonuses, just like the
Pokemon Go will feature increased spawns of pink Pokemon, specifically Clefairy, Hoppip, and Luvdisc. Pink pokemon will also hatch more frequently from 7km Eggs, although it’s unclear which Pokemon that might be. (edit: 7km egg hatches include shiny Smoochum, shiny Cleffa, and Happiny, among others) Trainers will also be able to challenge Chansey and Porygon in Raid Battles. Smoochum is featured on the art for the event, which may portend the release of shiny Smoochum and Jynx.
For a limited time, Trainers can encounter Sweetheart Spinda by finding and completing the Research Task “Make 5 Great Curveball Throws in a row.”
The Valentine’s Day event will also feature two bonuses. Lure modules will last six hours instead of the normal 30 minutes and catch candy is doubled.
The Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day Celebration starts on February 13, 2019, at 1 pm PST, and ends on February 21, 2019, at 1 pm PST.
Edit: Shiny Cleffa and shiny Smoochum have been confirmed. (via @TheSilphRoad on Twitter)
